Margaret River Artist, Rika Rouw’s Exhibition
Margaret River Artist, Rika Rouw has been working with clay for more than 30 years. She creates whimsical ceramic sculptures portaying everyday happenings with wit and exuberance. Recently, Rika has turned her hand to painting on paper in acrylics, pastel and pen and was commisssioned to design the art work for International Women’s Day in 2005. Rika will be holding an exhibition, titled of recent works, titled “Loony Tunes at the “Foyer Gallery”, Margaret River Culture Centre, Walcliffe Road Margaret River from the 25th October untill the 27th November 2009. Opening Times 10 to 4 Mondays to Fridays. The Exhibition, inspired by pop songs features 20 paintings and 5 decorative plates, prints and cards.

‘Luscious Ladies’, unique ceramic sculptures, handpainted by Rika and kiln fired.
‘Luscious ladies’ love life. They embrace it with both arms and squeeze it tightly to their breasts. They wallow in it and allow nothing of importance to pass them by. They take time to smell the roses of experience and love their partners, family and friends with abanded passion. Are you a luscious lady? Of course you are! It’s just that sometimes you may forget. This luscious lady is a reminder to you not to get caught up in the roses’ thorns, but to rise above them to their heady perfume.
